Please help me to understand this....the unemployment rate is over 9%. There are people out there in need of jobs. So why, why WHY can't they show up for their scheduled interviews?!?!? I've started keeping a tally of the number of "no shows" for servers. I'm up to five in the first 3 days of interviews.
On a positive note, the candidates that have actually shown up for their interviews have been decent. I've found two that are on my positive list. Another would be a decent lunch servers. A few more duds but that's to be expected.
I rounded out the day with meetings with beverage vendors. Putting together a good wine and beer selection is part of the fun with running a restaurant. It should be even more exciting as we get closer and start pairing the beverages with the foods.
I'm going to try to "unplug" and get away on the motorcycle for a long weekend. More updates on Monday.
